Recognizing the enormity of the continuous grief and blood trauma our Black-Identifying communities face, EQUITABLE ACTION FOR CHANGE is dedicated to making a lasting impact through our community supports and programs despite our size and funding.

Support Services

Making a Difference

*COVID-19 AND LOCKDOWN

Our services are delivered through telephone, online or in-person (with proper COVID-19 Protocols).

Thank you for doing your part in keeping us all safer. We have and continue to deliver services throughout the pandemic.

We provide referrals, support and access from a harm reduction,  traditional  and cultural trauma-informed lens.  We provide Training to our Peer Support Workers, Volunteers as well as our Community partners. 

Immigration

We provide settlement services and support which include but are not limited to; advocacy, referrals and supports for individuals going through the different stages of the immigration processes. We work with documented and undocumented individuals to mitigate harm to vulnerable individuals. 

 

Employment

We provide assistance to individuals in drafting resumes, cover letters, job interview prep, job employment search leads and connection with third party community partners. We provide  Peer emotional Support to individuals who are experiencing long-term unemployment challenges. We connect these individuals with community supports to access trainings and other services. We develop and deliver specific employment training and education to fulfill targeted gaps to establish transferrable skills. 

Arts

We provide education to increase the public's understanding and appreciation of the arts by providing performances of an artistic nature virtually, and in-person by providing seminars on topics relating to such performances. We will celebrate our beautiful, vibrant and wholesome Black culture through virtual performances on spoken word, rap, blues, folk, traditional, cultural dances and many more. We will conduct community events for the purposes of educating and advancing the public's understanding and appreciation of the histories of all current dance, music and arts and their roots. Our performing arts are aimed to explore our heritage, build new skills, advance other our  artists work through participation in community led virtual and live festivals and related workshops. We will announce events as they become available. Get your tickets as spaces will be limited.
