CULTURALLY INFORMED                        COMMUNITY PEER SUPPORT SERVICES

Equitable Action for Change is a Black created, led and focused-serving grassroots not-for-profit Peer-led Support Services agency. We are a multi-service agency that provides services in substance use, sexual violence, community outreach services, arts supports, with an emphasis on access to services to reduce harms primarily to people in Tkaronto/Toronto and surrounding areas. Our services are delivered from a culturally-informed,  trauma-informed, harm reduction approach.

We are a hub for other agencies to collaborate and cross-refer, for vulnerable and marginalized populations. We are available to provide direct training and consultations to agencies that work with our communities on equitable service and client care  to prevent further harms to our vulnerable and marginalized communities. We work from a cultural, harm reduction, trauma-informed lens.

We provide individuals with referrals, immediate and ongoing Peer Support services, including:

• Accessing emergency basic needs and Harm Reduction supplies

• Supporting intermittently housed, unsheltered folks

• Accessing safer housing

• Trauma-informed harm reduction Peer Based Support

Accessing legal support

• Accessing medical assistance; dental, foot, wound-care and so on...

Employment assistance

• Educational/vocational training.
